Bel-Con originally built this arena in 1976 and more recently replaced the roof utilizing Butler’s Lo-Pro Metal-Over-Metal standing seam roof system. The system added insulation to increase the existing R-value which helped reduce energy consumption and maintain more consistency in the quality of the ice (especially in the fall and early spring when temperatures fluctuate more often.) It should be noted that this roof was 33 years old when it was replaced!And the replacement was completed during the winter while the facility was in use without affecting ice rentals.
